We, Karen and Deryck, operate as K & D Foster – Photographers. (KDPhoto)
We have been involved in photography since 1979 and have had extensive experience with both medium and 35 mm format camera’s including Linhoff, Hasselblad and Mamiya. As we progressed we honed our skills in all areas of photography covering Weddings, Sport/Action, Nature, Still life, Studio Work as well as Commercial and Advertising.
We have our photographs regularly published in various magazines and newspapers throughout South Africa and internationally as well as having supplied many Companies and Private Individuals with large prints for display purposes.
We have an extensive library of wild life and other photographs on offer to clients.
In recent years we have incorporated digital technology into our photography and now offer a full digital service including repairing and retouching of old photographs.
With the advent of High Definition videography we were impressed with the quality (finally) of video output and have subsequently purchased HD equipment for our video work.
Photography Equipment:
The backbone of our photography system is a range of Nikon digital camera bodies, lenses and flashes.
For Video we make use of the Nikon Z6ii, D4 and D800E bodies coupled to an external drive.
Wedding Photography
Wedding Photography is a challenging yet rewarding and exciting form of photography. Challenging, because unlike many other forms of photography, it must be right the first time……..there is no going back to capture that special moment.
Rewarding, because it is a privilege to be able to share in your special wedding day and exciting to be able to make it a very memorable one for you, something you will be able to keep and treasure for many many years to come.
Your choice of photographer is as important as any other of the many decisions you have to make. We would therefore urge you to carefully consider just anyone to capture your wedding memories!

Additional costs to consider for Wedding photography
Per hour cost after the hours stipulated in each package above R 900.00
Per photograph (after the initial quantity) excluding enlargements R 208.00
Enlargements range from R40.00 upwards To be negotiated
Sports Photography
While we cover most of the International and National sport events for Media houses we do accept commissions to cover Club and School activities and even private bookings to photograph your child’s achievements. These commissions could be on a “pay per order” system where we display the images and parents may place orders for what they want or it could be as a fixed fee where we charge a going rate and the school or club may sell them. Please contact us to discuss this should you need our services.
Corporate Photography
We cover everything from Corporate events to Portraits of staff to Marketing and advertising images. Contact us and we will gladly supply you with a quotation.
Travel Photography
We travel extensively and while we working almost exclusively for media houses and magazines we do love accepting commissions for travel imagery and video clips. Anyone may contact us for a free quotation.
